System Administrator

Overview:

** Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph required. **

Rampart Technologies Corporation has an opportunity for a System Administrator to support and lead a variety of administrative functions for a Multi-INT mission. You will work directly with developers and testers to provision, configure, and maintain desktop, virtual and physical lab environments to test and operate their capabilities. In addition to providing Tier 1-4 support to users, it is the responsibility of you and your team to maintain a high level of infrastructure availability to include, configuring networks and devices alongside developers, and identifying new hardware and software needed to propel their solutions to the next level. You will be administering virtual machines, procuring, and setting up servers, and configuring devices to work in several modes within a lab. You will maintain drawings and specifications and provide responsive customer service to developers and Government leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Establish functional and technical specifications, solve hardware/software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem.

Technical Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience as a systems administrator supporting projects of similar scope.
  • Lab management experience, including tracking of inventory, work with developers to configure devices and compute equipment, and designing, sustaining and maintain all technology within.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and involvement with user support/tier 1-4.
  • Significant experience with Linux (CentOS/RHEL) and scripting/automating.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMWare/OpenStack) and hardware (servers/switches/SANs).
  • Experience working with customer security requirements and tools to support development efforts.
  • Security+ certification or better required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is preferred, however an additional 5 years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with networking and/or authentication/IPA
  • Experience with Ansible and docker/containerization/orchestration
  • Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • Experience administering Windows based systems
  • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
  • Familiar with version control systems such as git, IBM Rational Team Concert, etc.
  • General Network Administration
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) concepts
  • Knowledge of Network Attached Storage (NAS)

“In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $90,000 to $180,000; however, Rampart Technologies Corporation considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.”
